k\u00f6nnen, z.B. durch die Eliminierung von Infektionen, immunsuppressive Therapien oder die Behandlung des metabolischen Syndroms, haben die Patienten bei der Erstdiagnose h\u00e4ufig bereits eine fortgeschrittene Fibrose, die als irreversibel gilt. Die meisten fibrotischen Erkrankungen k\u00f6nnen nicht wirksam durch eine kausale Therapie behandelt werden. Daher besteht ein dringender Bedarf an spezifischen Therapien zur Behandlung der Fibrose. Bislang ist jedoch noch kein wirksames antifibrotisches Medikament f\u00fcr den klinischen Einsatz zugelassen.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">ImmuneNTech hat sich auf Schl\u00fcsselmechanismen und zellul\u00e4re Akteure konzentriert, die das Fortschreiten der Fibrose (Fibrogenese) oder auch die Umkehrung der Fibrose (Fibrolyse) vorantreiben, insbesondere in der Leber, aber auch in anderen Organen, in denen die Fibrose auf \u00e4hnliche Mechanismen und Zellen zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren ist. Zu den therapeutischen Wirkstoffen geh\u00f6ren kleine Wirkstoffmolek\u00fcle, interferierende RNA (siRNA) oder Peptide, welche spezifische Gene, Transkripte oder Proteine so modulieren, dass die Fibrogenese gehemmnt oder die Fibrolyse gef\u00f6rdert wird. Dabei wurden gut validierte Nagetiermodelle der Leberfibrose (parenchymat\u00f6s, bili\u00e4r und NASH) eingesetzt. Auf der Grundlage dieser Arbeiten sind einige der so getesteten Arzneimittel bereits in klinischen Studien der Phase 2 (siehe unten aufgef\u00fchrte Schl\u00fcsselpublikationen).
